1 Minute Monologues – (comedy) 1 minute

Character: LYN
Description: Lyn is aggravated and down on her luck.  She hasn’t been able to find a decent monologue anywhere.  She talks about the idea of checking out The Monologue Bloggers website.
Gender: Female
Age:  25

WOMEN WILL FIND THE TOP 50 (currently) MOST POPULAR FEMALE MONOLOGUES HERE

I have gone to every bookstore in New York City.  I have looked through a wide abundance of books, looking for monologues.  Same old crap.  Not to say that the writing is bad.  Some of these monologues are from some of the greatest writers in history.  It’s just so tired.  Same old characters and the same old stories.  Blah Blah Blah.  We’ve seen it all two billion times.  I just wish there was a resource that could be exciting.  Something that actors can use to find fresh material.

Casting Directors have seen the same monologues so often.  Granted, every actors interpretation is going to be different but it would give the actor an edge to be able to use original monologues.  My friend Josh told me about this site called Monologue Blogger.  I don’t know, I’m going to check it out.  He said it’s the answer to my prayers, in fact, all actors prayers.  Maybe.  I find it hard to believe but I will take a glance at it.  If its as good as he claims, maybe I will finally find a kick ass 1 minute monologue

That’s all I need.  That’s all I want.  Just a simple yet powerful, one minute monologue.  Is that so much to ask for.  Something to show my range and versatility as an actress.  I’ve even tried writing my own monologue.  I suck.  I don’t know the first thing about putting one together.  I need it written for me, I’m an actress!

I guess I’ll check out this site that claims to have free original monologues.  I’m surprised I haven’t heard about this site sooner.  Wish me luck…

    I had to find a free monologue fast, and I mean fast. because of all the hecktic halloween stuff going on, I never had a chance to memorize the monologue the teacher gave me. then what happens? I lose it 3 days before I have to proform it. lucky me. so I’m like “I know it has to be 5 minutes but I can stretch a 1 minute monologue easy. less lines, less to memorize” so I’m looking all over and read this monologue and think “If I got to act one out, might as well be the same situation I’m in”. so, yeah, triple glee for me! now I’m of to memorize, god help me not fail ;;

    Glad I was able to have a monologue that suited your needs. I wish you the best!

    I used this monologue and in turn didn’t get a major part, though later the director pulled me aside and told me how humurous the monologue was. It got big laughs and if there weren’t 7 parts, I’m sure I would have gotten another one due to the brilliance of this material!

And now you’ve just put up voiceovers that you do and I think it’s fantastic! I am not one to normally leave comments on sites but I don’t know, I just hope you know that you are appreciated and that you are a great artist!
