Character: DOMINIC
Description: Dominic talks to his friend about missing his dog Sheba.
Gender: Male
Age: 29
I miss my dog Sheba. At the time, we gave her an operation because we found a lump in her abdomen area. When we took her to the vet he said that there were a few lumps that he was able to detect. He said that for a thousand dollars he caould save her life with surgery. So, of course we had the procedure done.
After Sheba recovered she was back to her old self for about a week and then she began limping. Limping so bad that her leg was starting to drag on the ground when she walked. I took her back to the vet and he said that there was nothing he could do. That she was too far gone. I told him that he said the operation was supposed to save her life and he ignored me and said it was too late.
When I went back home to tell my mother what happened, she bagan crying. And that’s all I needed to see. I felt that this doctor screwed my family out of money and caused the last days of my dogs life to be in pain.
We had no choice but to lay her down. We went back to the same vet so he could inject her with a needle shot, that would put her at rest. In other words, kill her painlessly. I remember holding her in my arms and she was shaking. But when I spoke to her, she became calm. I told her she was going to Heaven and it was as if she understood me. She just looked me in the eyes and let me know she was ready. I told her I loved her as the doctor injected her with the needle. I watched my dogs eyes slowly drift away into a glaze and that was it, she was gone.
I looked at the doctor and said I would see him again. I walked out of there and cried my fucking eyes out with my Stepfather.
I waited months to get my revenge and I did. I waited for the vet to leave his job and I gave him a beating in the alleyway right next door to the vet hospital. Then I detroyed his building, breaking all the windows to the place. Right in front of everybody. I took off calmly, walking right across railroad tracks, where a car was waiting for me on the other side. And we drove off.
What I did won’t bring my dog Sheba back but at least that lowlife doctor won’t think about screwing over other innocent people who love their pets dearly.
