Character: HARRY
Description: Harry talks about how his girlfriend doesn’t like C-TOWN.
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Ghetto? I told her, what the hell is Ghetto? And she was like, “Everyone who shops at C-TOWN is ghetto.” So I just looked at her, trying to understand what the hell she was talking about. I told her, what does Ghetto mean, poor? And she was like yeah. I said, I’ve been shopping at C-TOWN since I was a kid. My whole family has been shopping there. Does that make my family poor? And she was like, NO, but wouldn’t you rather go to Stop & Shop? And I was like, what the hell is Stop & Shop? I never even heard of the freaking place.
Then she goes on to tell me how amazing the store is and how we can get all our groceries from there from now on. I personally, don’t care where we shop, it’s not like I’m partial to any store. I could really care less but I just felt sensitive about the whole C-TOWN thing.
You know, the first time my mother ever let me cross the street was when I was nine years old. C-TOWN was only two blocks away and all I had to do was cross one street. She allowed me to go and on my very first day of crossing the street, I shopped for my mother at C-TOWN. So, it’s a little sentimental to me.
It’s no big deal but you know, C-TOWN is my friend. It was worth defending.
