“Easy Come, Easy Go” (drama) 1 Minute

Monologue Description:  “Easy Come, Easy Go” is about a father teaching his daughter responsibility.

Character Description:  Morgan talks to his daughter about being irresponsible with a credit card.

MORGAN:

Twenty pairs of boots, thirty pairs of shoes, more shirts than I can count, forty pairs of jeans, jewelry and stuff I’ve never even heard of…  Who do you think you are, Paris Hilton?  You cannot continue to spend money the way you spend money.  I gave you a credit card to teach you about responsibility.  I turn around because I trust you, especially after we’ve had talks about the importance of a good credit line and what do you do?  Ten thousand dollars later in three months!

Now I am going to really teach you about responsibility young lady.  You are going to work and pay off your debt all by yourself.  You are going to put together a “get out of debt” plan and I don’t care if it takes you years and years.  YOU WILL pay off the ten grand.

I am disappointed in you.  I thought you were much more capable than what you have shown.  I almost fell out of my chair when I read the billing statement.  I am so ashamed.  When you figure out how you plan on paying back all this money, than I will talk to you.  Until than, I don’t want to look at you.

I am really upset that you did this.  I love you but I am angry.
