“Spoken Diary” (drama) 1 Minute

Monologue Description: “Spoken Diary” is about losing love to gain greater love.

Character Description:Stephanie reads her diary to herself outloud.

STEPHANIE:

I used to think about you every single day of my life. I carried the pain of our break up with me, in my heart, for three long years. I traveled thousands of miles to get away from the hurt you caused in me, only to discover that I couldn’t outrun the agony.

I came back and found you. You of course looked more handsome than you did when we were together. But I also discovererd that we were not meant to be. I realized that all the time I let go by in my life, thinking about you, wondering about you..was a waste of my time.

I’m more important than you and you only held me back from my lifes calling. Nothing can stop me now but death alone. And even if death approached me, I would kill it before it killed me. Death would have to make more than one attempt at my life. It has but it must wait a while longer. I’ll go when I’m good and damn well ready. (beat)

You are nothing but a memory. I hold on to the good ones. I am grateful and thank my lucky stars that we never worked out. It would have destroyed me. I have found someone who is, well, perfect.
