“Reno Beano” (comedy) 1 Minute

Monologue Description: “Reno Beano” is about delivering the goods for your child during the holiday season.

Character Description: Ramond is in a toy store, attempting to purchase a broken Reno Beano doll for his daughter. It is the holiday season and everyone needs this doll for their child. This is the last one and although the doll is missing an arm, Ramond doesn’t care. Store customers are all looking at him like they are going to jump him for Reno Beano. The store workers are all standing around in suspense as Ramond attempts to calmly pay for the doll and quietly leave the toy store.

RAMOND:

Your crazy! I’m not the one who’s crazy. Look at you, look at you all. NUTS! You’re all nuts. Stop looking at me like I’m the one who’s nuts. It’s obvious, it’s clear. Look at yourselves. Look! All I want is this Reno Beano doll and no one will get hurt. It’s the last one and it’s mine. I got it first. I was here first. I searched and searched and searched and it’s mine. I went to thirty different stores to get this Reno Beano doll and it’s mine. I don’t care that it’s missing an arm, that it was chucked aside. It still counts! My daughter will be pleased with her daddy. I can always patch up Reno Beano’s arm.So, I just want to pay. Full price is not a problem despite the missing limb. I’m just gonna put the money down right here on the register and I’m going to slowly step away from the cash register counter and I’m going to get into my car and safely drive away. If any of you follow me, I warn you, you are wasting your time. I used to Nascar racedrive. So don’t mess with me!Okay. There’s your money.
