Monologue Description: “Diva” is about a guy taking his looks too far.

Character Description:Brenda talks to her mother about how her brother is too much like a woman.

BRENDA:

He’s a diva. Let’s face it. A diva.

I never met a man who looks at himself as much as he does in the mirror. He is a diva. He’s constantly checking himself out. We walk down a block together and everytime we pass a car, he’s looking at his reflection from the car window. I watch hm do his hair and it takes him like forty five minutes. He does his hair like Da Vinci doing a painting. And he’ll ask my opinion fifty five times before we leave the house to go out. He gets his eyebrows perfectly plucked and he goes to the salon every two weeks to get his hair professionally cut and dyed. He gets his teeth whitened from the dentist every three months. He’s always going to the tanning salon. He’s forever going to the gym. if he wasn’t my brother, I would think he was gay. Or at least metrosexual or something. I would think something isn’t right but he loves women. Now, I’m not saying it’s a bad thing for a guy to look good. More men should take care of themselves but he takes it too far. I think he needs to take a few steps back and not worry about his looks all the time.
