Monologue Description: “A Thousand Kisses” is about a mother’s love for her daughter.
Character Description:In this monologue, Dora explains to her dear friend a cute story she experienced with her two year old daughter.
DORA:
Isn’t it beautiful when you see a baby, no more than 2 years old, act like the mommy or daddy with their doll? It’s the most beautiful thing, cutest thing to see. Ha Ha. I was watching Tara the other day. She was in the play room playing quietly by herself. I was just fascinated by watching her. Just enjoying seeing her little mind work. It really is a miracle, life.
(sighs)
Yeah. I kept watching and I realized that Tara was acting like the mommy to her doll. She was making the doll drink from a cup. And she kept saying, drink, drink, drink. Ha Ha. And then she’d say, gooooood giiiiirrrrlllll. Ha Ha. She got that from me. Ha Ha.I was amazed. I ran over to her, scooped her up and attacked her with a thousand kisses. I just couldn’t resist. She really is a gem.
