“Question Of Faith” (serio-comic) 1 Minute

Monologue Description: “Question Of Faith” is about remaining in a relationship…or not.

Character Description: In this monologue, Troy talks to his friend about his loyalty to his girlfriend. Troy is not exactly sure as to whether or not he should break up or stay with his girlfriend.

TROY:

Yo Ed, remember when you first met Kathy? Everything was all honkey dorey and put on. You know, all the ha ha ha stuff and he he he stuff. It’s like you are on your best behavior, right? Just because you want to get that ass. Then you fast forward a year and you realize that you now have the ability to blast farts in front of her and be grumpy and show attitude and whatever.

Why does that happen?? Is it because you care less??

The first date you’re not really yourself because you want to be “the man”, the greatest man she ever saw but then a year later, you look at the same restaurant you guys first went to and you always hated that place but you took her there because you knew she liked sushi, meanwhile you fucking despise sushi. You did it to to look good, just like politics man. It’s all political. Relationships are fucking political.

Maybe it’s not love and it was always about “getting that ass”. I mean, essentially, isn’t that what it’s really about but then you get hooked into the whole I love you thing and then your fucked. Then your stuck in this relationship, when all you wanted was ass and one clear blue morning you wake up and ask yourself, “How the fuck did I get here?”

Do you sometimes feel like you don’t want to be with Kathy? You ever feel like you want to get back on the ass hunt? Or are you happy with her man and want to marry her?
