Monologue Description: “Digging My Man” is about jealousy.
Character Description: In this monologue, Tina tells her friend Michelle to stop flirting with her boyfriend.
TINA:
Why you digging on my man? Listen Michelle, really, stop the horseshit. You know this isn’t just some guy and even if it was, how can you call yourself a friend to me when you constantly flirt with him? Don’t act like it’s your personalitty because there is a fine line between personality and deliberately being flirtatious.
Don’t deny it Michelle! You know damn well what the hell I’m talking about. The smiles, the little blushes! The touchy feely’s! The extra softness in your voice when you talk to him. The way you posture. Please! I see the sexy attitude you put on when he’s around.
Why do you do that? To try and hurt me? Since we were kids, you were always jealous of me. If I got something you had to have it too. You were always trying to best me growing up and now you’re trying to steal my man.
I will not allow it!
You have a choice — stop biting on on my man or lose a friend for life. That’s it! There’s nothing you can possibly say to me.
