Monologue Description: “Current State Of Hip Hop” is about rap music.
Character Description: In this monologue, Darren talks to his friend Tobey about his point of view regarding the current state of hip hop music.
DARREN:
Check out Dellacroche’s HIP HOP TRACK: “Troubled Life”
“Twenty Something Years and You’re Stuck In The Same Place,
Twenty Something Years Of Seeing The Same Face”Man, the lyrics to that song are deadly. Some good shit there bro. I love listening to unsigned musical talent. Artists like this Dellacroche guy are the shit. This guy speaks the truth and says it from his heart. Rap music today has become too commercialized which is why sales are floundering.
We need more talent in the hip hop game like this Della guy. Raw talent. His shit is dope, some never before heard of stuff. Della calls his own music, Orchestrated Hip Hop. It’s like he takes the sounds of old school composition from amazing composers like Mozart and Beethoven and he structures it out through hip hop. You gotta hear “Body Of A Cursed Man”. WOW!!! Shit is powerful!!!!
Anyway, I’m sick of the same old shit man, same old rap, same old crap. Who cares about booty bumping bitches and how much money you have?! Who cares about your fancy cars and bling bling bling?! Who gives a rats ass?!
The whole point of the magic with rap is the expression of what needs to be said about life, about our society and about the struggles of humanity.
We need to take rap back to what it was meant to be…INSPIRATION FOR MANKIND!
