There are wonderful teachers out there who I feel give wonderful meaning to what a monologue is meant to do…one of those teachers is Karen Kohlhaas who is a master teacher of monologue acting technique. I have looked at what Karen does and how she goes about teaching her students the craft of monologue technique for auditioning. She is wonderfully insightful and I would recommend her to students.  Her classes are ongoing and reasonably priced.

Karen has written a book entitled, “The Monologue Audition:  A Practical Guide For Actors“, foreword by David Mamet.

Karen has even gone so far as to put together a 90 minute (30 min bonus materials) video entitled, “The Monologue Audition Video” which features industry professionals as well as actors who demonstrate how to Direct, Act and Audition with monologues.
