Monologue Description: “SCREW LOOSE” is a serio-comedy about how one perceives themself.
Character Description: In this monologue, Maloney talks to his best friend about how he thinks he may be slightly nuts, after studying himself with self-analysis.
Setting: This takes place outside a bar.
MALONEY:
Bro, lately I’ve been watching myself, right? To see if I’m, you know, a little off. And I’ve come to realize that after a couple of close weeks of self examination, I indeed, am not all there. It’s true. Weren’t you going to tell me? No, no…don’t talk. Just wait. I’ve been walking around, for thirty five years of my life, NOT ALL THERE?
I’m the guy who they say is missing a card in the deck, ain’t I? I’m the guy you love but can easily get nervous around because you know I’m slightly touched. Great!
Anyways, I’m a little off and part of me thinks it’s cool cause I’m an artist and all that shit but yet, yet the other side of me just kinda wants to panic because–WAIT!
Do other people spazz out like me and just don’t admit it? Maybe we all experience bug out moments but I’m feeling like a freak cause I am the only one who seems to admit it. But think about it. Come on, you know you do it. You know you have a spazzy moment when you’re alone and no one is watching.
I think we are all slightly crazy in our own private ways…
