Monologue Description: “A BRILLIANT HIGH” is about a pot head who had a brilliant idea, but then forgot it.

Character Description: In this monologue, Wayze, tries to explain to his fellow pote headed friend, how he forgot his most brillinat, genius idea. He is obviously stoned during this monologue as he recaps his prior stoned out of his skull story from earlier that same day.

WAYZE:

Yo, so I had like this brilliant high today man. Aaaa Aaaaa Aaaaa. It was sweet yo! Aaaa Aaaaa. So like I was just chilling out right, right and like I started getting stoned right, right? And I was like puffing on my shit you know, just…(puffs on invisible joint and imitates smoking it) Right? Right? Right?

And I was…what was I saying? Wait. What the fuck was I just saying…

(pause)

Puffing on the…what?

(beat)

Puffing on the—Oh! OH! OH! OH! I was gonna tell you about my BRILLIANT HIGH. I was smoking a phatty and was doing some shit online, on the computer right? Right? And I was puffing away right? Right? And I had this thought…I had this thought about being smart. Like I had a really amazing idea. Okay? Right? I thought of something that was genius, that nobody ever thought of right? Right? Right? And it was the most incredible fucking invention type idea you ever could like, like, like think up like right? Right?

Okay so’s, so’s I was like blown away by my own brilliance. But dude, bro, bro…like a second after that idea I had, I forgot it. I fucking forgot my idea! And I panicked. And I freaked out, and freaking out when your stoned makes you freak out more than you would normally freak the fuck out. Right? Right? So I was bugging out! Because, I couldn’t fucking remember my genius idea.

…And I was never able to remember it ever again, so’s I been depressed for like three fucking days over this shit man….nothing works, I played that shit forward and backward and shit man…I kept going over it in my mind…like what was I looking at, what was I thinking, seeing…whatever…you know? Nothing works man, nothing.

So I could have been a genius bro…I coulda been…
