Monologue Description: “Everything We Did” is a drama about a teenager experiencing a foursome.

Character Description: In this monologue, Marla has just woken up from a wild night that she wishes never took place in her life.  She talks to her boyfriend Mark, who is sitting up against the bed post, staring out with a glazed look on his face.

MB Tip:  For the young actress performing this part, keep in mind that in order to bring truth to this monologue, you need to carefully use your imagination to create the horrible events that took place the night before.  For example, Marla was given drugs without realizing she was given drugs.  Let that play on your imagination and the terrible events that transpired. There are hints of rape within this piece and that is a serious subject matter to consider.

MARLA:

(Marla sits at the edge of a bed.  She has a thick blanket wrapped around her.  Her hair is greasy, she smokes a cigarette and mascara is faintly smeared across her gentle face.)

(she stares at her boyfriend)

Are you satisfied?

(beat)

Hmm?  Do you feel good about what we did last night?  I’m not sure how I feel about it, Mark. I, wasn’t sure to begin with but now, I feel kind of sick and I can’t–I’m trying to remember everything that happened last night, everything we did…

His hand was over my mouth…

(pause)

I saw you on top of her, in that rocking chair over there.  You were intense.  She kept laughing….SLUT.  

(getting fired up but restraining her emotions)

Did you enjoy it?  DID YOU?!  Did I help you fulfill your fantasies? 

(she stands up)

You can’t even look at me, can you Mark?  Look at yourself.  You know what you are?  You’re a filthy whore!  And now you made me less of a woman, you made me some kind of dirty tramp for your own selfish needs!!!   

You don’t care about me, you just cared about the experience.  Well, it wasn’t any kind of experience for me Mark.  I kept telling the guy to get off me and I kept calling out for your name but you were to busy pounding away on old Daisy and I was trapped in this broken down bed and, and, and now, now I have to live with this for the rest of my life!!!!

(she begins getting dressed)

Don’t come near me!  This was nothing of what you promised.  You lied to me and I hate you for it!  I HATE YOU!!!!  I want to be alone!  I need to be alone…I want to be by myself.  I want you to bring me back home right now.  Right now.  I want to go home.  

(beat)

(calmly)

…Please.  I don’t want to talk, I just want to go home.
