LAST:  I am dead but will never expire.  [pause.]  What I stood for, others will remember…my life, an excuse to live, was to push forward my greatest of intentions for humanity.  You don’t understand, do you?  [beat] I know.  [beat]  It doesn’t make sense to me either; these urges.  This…taste.  How does one explain what one is?  This untold desire, unbeknownst to me but felt by me, without explanation.  Puzzlement.  Such; suuuch…I’m unexplained; perhaps, perhaps that is the answer…what is illogical, is the logic but to what?  We live in an illogical world where we try to make logical choices but how can we be…getting too smart for myself…I’m at a loss just as much as you are my friend…I don’t have the answers, if I did I would sound like all those that claim they do; and they don’t…the only truth is the truth of not knowing…anything more, is superfluous.

Monologue Description: “Wax Wexler” is a serio-comedy about an odd man.

Character Description:  In this monologue, A is an offbeat, eccentric person.  Everything he talks about makes sense to him.

W:

Wax.  I’m changing my first name to Wax.  My last name is Wexler, so I think the name Wax Wexler has a nice ring to it.  Besides, I’m considering going into acting and I can see that name up in lights.  WAX WEXLER. Yeah.

Balloons.

Mars.  One day I’d like to have a house built on Mars.  Be the first.

Jennifer.  I knew a girl named Jennifer once who poured hot apple pie on my thighs…

Macintosh computers are the coolest.

What do you think when you hear the name Devlon Man?  Weird, right?

Nine times three equals twenty seven.  Twenty Seven times one equals twenty seven.  Seven times four equals 28.  I like to do math more in my head nowadays because one out of five men become senile in life and I don’t want to be the one.  Doing math in my head keeps my brain as sharp as a whistle, even though a whistle isn’t sharp.

Blush Boutique Nightclub in Vegas.  Wish to go one day…

I love Manhattan skyline.  Don’t you?

“Bubble World” (drama) 1 Minute

Monologue Description: “Bubble World” is a drama about being self centered.

Character Description:  In this monologue, Jasmine, who is the teenage cousin of Jessica, vents her frustration in regards to how she thinks Jessica lives in her own imaginary world.

JASMINE:

Pink dress, purple dress, white dress…that’s all I hear.  Brown shoes, white shoes, yellow shoes.  On and on and on.   Me, me, me, me, me…You are so wrapped up in your little world, Jess.  You’re in this bubble that you need to break out of and realize that there are things in life other than the i-phone or blackberry.  YOU HAVE BOTH!  I never heard of anyone, HAVING BOTH.  How busy can you be at thirteen?  What do you do other than go to school and talk about the Jonas Brothers.  You are so spoiled!

We never hang out like we used too.  And whenever we do hang out you are either text messaging someone or calling someone else or hanging up posters on your bedroom wall. It’s like the only time we can go anywhere or do anything is if it revolves around something just you want to do.  God forbid I suggest something YOU don’t like.

(beat)

We used to always do things together.  I feel like we don’t click anymore.  For once it would be nice for you to call me and ask what I’m up to, do something I like doing for a change.

(beat)

Anyway, that’s why I came over.  I had to tell you this because I miss you and I miss us. You’re my best friend and it’s like I don’t even know you anymore.

I want us to hang out more and I want us to have fun again.  Don’t you?
