B Movie
In this teen monologue, EILEEN talks to her friend about what it’s like living in her house.
EILEEN: Most days my life feels like a twisted B movie. Everything has its way of playing itself out, everyone knows their parts but everyone’s stuck in their role. It’s like participating in a miscast life, always feeling like I’m the wrong actor for the part. Always feeling as though I’m going to forget my lines or my costume isn’t right or my face doesn’t do the character any justice. I look around and the house I live in is like a decorated movie set, with fluffy brown couches, a fireplace, marble floors, walk around kitchen, stainless steel appliances, expensive paintings mount the walls…everything smells fresh and rosy, everything’s cared for.
I’m trapped inside dramatic horseplay and I am the star of this crappy ninety-minute feature film, with chance and fate co-directing me to hell.
