Force of Reason

In this male dramatic monologue, FRANZ talks about the meaning of life as he understands it and whether or not he believes in God.

FRANZ:  Life, it really is unfairly short but somehow I believe it makes sense.  Somehow it feels like it’s all figured out, that there is some force of reason about it all; our existence.  (pause.) I get troubled often…not knowing if there is a God.  Some days I believe, other days I doubt.

Today I was angry, I was venting in my car because my day didn’t go as I had planned and I spouted out insults regarding my beliefs.  The deep truth of what I feel is that there is something beyond but I get so damn frustrated about it because the only real evidence I see is what’s in my heart.
