If Only

In this family drama monologue, If Only, MOLLY tries to break down the wall her younger sister puts up between their relationship.

Molly:  …If you would only take the time to think over what I say to you.  If only…you’re life for the past year would have been so much easier.  You would have been happier Karen.

I know you look at me like I’m an idiot or maybe you think you are smarter than me and that’s fine but if you would only listen to my suggestions, I know for a fact, based on my own experience that you would go further with things in your life.  You would go further with the things that you want to accomplish.

Instead, you hold resentment toward me.  You grow angry at me.  You don’t really take into account all that I’ve tried to share with you.  I’m not saying I’m smarter than you and I’m not saying I’m right about everything but you need to trust me more and take your pride out of the equation.

I’m your sister.  Don’t you think I have your best interest?
