In this monologue, MILO does his best to explain to MURA why she wasn’t the candidate of choice for the position his company is hiring for.
MILO: I tried to turn it around Mura, I’m sorry…it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen for you…I know what this means to you, believe me, I know…you just need to be patient and keep pushing forward. It’s the only way to get past it.
This isn’t a reflection on who you are as a person. Not at all. It’s just that we found the other candidate to be slightly more polished than you.
You have great experience, great knowledge, I can tell how much of a team player you are and you’re certainly poised…it’s just that when the vote went down, the other candidate beat you out by a small margin.
That’s all I can say. I wish I could give you more than that but I can lose my own job here. Try again in six months and we can always see if something opens up. I wish you the absolute best. Keep your chin up.
