Starting Fires
In this teen girl monologue, JAN tells her sister that she needs to learn to maintain self-control when she gets annoyed over things.
JAN: You need to learn to be less emotional. You get so temperamental over things, the simplest things and you carry on about it way longer than you should.
I keep making up excuses for you but it’s reached a point where I have to tell you something because it’s getting too intense for me to cope with.
I need you to learn how to calm down and keep yourself in control. I mean, you get so wound up over the little things, what if something major happened? What then? How would you react in that case?
I don’t know what else to tell you other than you need to figure it out. Go to yoga, do some meditation, I don’t know, something, anything other than starting fires.
