The Shift Inside Myself

In the dramatic monologue, The Shift Inside Myself, Jesse talks at the site where a mentor of his has been laid to rest.

JESSE:  Since you died, I’ve made a shift inside myself.  There was a subtle, yet powerful change that occurred within me and a doorway opened, a path that I knew I was expected to travel on.

I was always hesitant to travel where I’ve been meant to travel because it all seemed so certain and I rebelled against it.

But when you left, I finally stepped foot on that road you were trying to get me on because I realized I couldn’t let you down…

You gave me so much while you were alive and I promise you, that I will carry your voice within me, with each step I take.
