  2. The Meaning of Life – an animated short film which was directed by Don Hertzfeldt in 2005. It first premiered at the Sundance film festival first in 2005, but was now rediscovered and became one of the top Short’s of the Week.
  3. Bear Story – This film was animated, directed, and co-written animated, directed, and co-written by Gabriel Osorio, who uses anthropomorphized bears to retell the story of his grandfather who was imprisoned and exiled after an infamous coup d’état in Chile in 1973. Through the ursine characters, Bear Story does a fantastic job of depicting the pain of such a tragic event.
  4. Terrible Fate – Even if you know nothing about The Legend of Zelda, you can still enjoy this short as a visual masterpiece. With that said, Terrible Fate also wonderfully encapsulates the feeling of the game, emulating many of its sound effects and recreating some of its cutscenes.
  5. Planet Unknown – Taking place at the tail end of the twenty-first century, Planet Unknown focuses on two space rovers named Razor and Junkman. They are tasked with finding a habitable environment in outer space, when the planet they are inspecting is bombarded by meteorites.
