In You Don’t Have To Be Perfect, JAKE shares a personal story from his life in order to help out one of his good friends.
Jake: I wasted a lot of time living in fear because I always had a mental block of trying to be perfect. It took me a long while to realize that the amount of pressure I kept putting on myself was short circuiting my ambitions and causing me great inner turmoil.
It dawned on me one day that perfection can never be reached. There is no such thing as perfection because there is always room for improvement. So I shifted gears and put my attention on growing as a person rather than trying to be perfect as a person.
I’ve been so much happier ever since.
I see that you suffer from the same disease. You’re my friend and I love you and I know you have passions you wish to pursue but you keep stopping yourself because of perfection. Let it go. You don’t have to be perfect. Stop psyching yourself out.
Accept mistakes. Accept your failures. It’s okay. Just keep improving and moving forward.
That’s all you need to do and you will be alright.
