Out and About

In drama monologue, “Out and About” Crow talks about secretly staying overnight where Handel and Hendrix once lived.

CROW:  They’re all over London. These circular blue ceramic plaques… they get attached to buildings where notable people were born, lived, or died. I know all about ’em. I’ve studied them.

Like, if you go to 25 Brook Street, you’ll find there’s a house there that both Handel and Hendrix stayed at. Imagine? Two genius musicians that lived in the same house at two completely different times in history. What are the chances of that? Right? Not that common if you ask me.

I stayed in the house once…overnight. I slipped in there and hid till closing time. It functions as a museum now, so… had the place all to myself. I can honestly say it was a moment in my life I’ll forever remember. To walk through those rooms, to touch the furniture, to look out at the world and try to listen in for secrets. One could definitely say there was something there.
