Cowboyville
In drama monologue “Cowboyville”, Wendy arrives at the bar where her ex-boyfriend Johnny is to invite him over for dinner and reconnect.
WENDY: That’s… good. Should I accept that? If I do all the shopping, it’s not like the food will go bad or anything. Food is food, right? It’ll be eaten.

You have somewhere else to be, somewhere more important than drudging up your past. I get it. I didn’t fully realize it till this exact moment, that I am existing in your past. I had my suspicion, but I didn’t choose to believe in my suspicion.
I couldn’t think that you—that people change, and I guess they do, and I guess it’s good for them, but what about what’s left?
I’m going to make dinner on Wednesday. You can come by or not, but I’m setting the table, and I’m tellin’ my mother, and I’m buying… Bring flowers, Johnny…bring some flowers, just because, right?
Wendy kisses Johnny on the cheek and turns to leave.
I have to get goin’, just wanted to see ya.
