DOM: I’ve been at it for three years. Three years. Not even a cup of coffee. Believe that? I couldn’t even strike up the nerve to ask her out for a cup of coffee. I’d come in here every week, I couldn’t take my eyes off her, thinking about how beautiful she is, I always made her laugh. Loads of times, good times.
I know all about her family, she knows all about mine. I put my time in, didn’t I? And she goes off with Frisco Boy in three seconds. Three years versus three seconds. Explain that. How do you explain something like that? That don’t make no sense. I’m a decent looking guy; might not be the best-looking fella in every room, but I’m certainly not something bad to look at. I’ve a decent personality, make a decent wage, am pretty healthy and strong, positive-minded for the most part, good hygiene for the most part…I mean, what? Aren’t I good enough for Kelly?
Shoulda had kids with her by now, eh? I have a house, too. I like to do activities. I’m pretty active. I walk around the park and stuff. I think. I, I watch all kinds of documentaries, and I..I have a pretty regular temperament. I don’t boast, reasonable IQ, slightly above average…I’m a good find, and how the hell did I know she was goin’ anywhere anyway? Huh? She works day in day out in this deadbeat job, having to smile at these washouts who’ve nothing better to do than fall in love with her and…try to..make her…smile. (beat) And in comes Frisco…some tango dancer from the Mediterranean. You’re tellin’ me he swept her off her feet as they waltzed off to some unbeknownst island? (beat) She’s got a nice smile – the nicest smile, right?
