Featured Monologue – The Correct Source
DILLARD: Ewen! Ewwwwwen! (He puts his foot on Ewen’s chest.) Do you think you can kill that tiny spider I was talking to you about earlier?
Dillard shows Ewen his taser.
I don’t wish to sting you. Not really. No, not in the sense you might expect. Honestly, I would much rather you be of assistance in this case.
That’s the trouble these days; people who specialize in a particular field have grown idle, all since Covid. Remember Covid? Nobody wants to work anymore. It’s all pushed aside.
I know you specialize in death, so I approached you. I saw what you did to Becky years ago; I knew what you did and where you left her body. I followed you and saw the entire episode play out over the course of weeks. I know where you buried her, Ewen. And now you are helpless, not because you had no choice, but because you made the wrong decision. You chose not to seek grace and redeem yourself for your sins by refusing to help someone who is in dire need.
Had you helped me, you might have been forgiven; you might have balanced some things out. I can’t say for certain if my existence would have cleared your path to the Heavenly Father…but there was a possibility. A possibility that the tiny black spider, which has now entered your ear, wouldn’t remain in your mind forever.
Forever, Ewen.
