I have never been so traumatized in all my life…

A serio-comedy scene from Landed on Lucky wherein Sam tries to explain to Carol that he never intended to do any harm to her dog.

Featured Scene – Landed on Lucky

SAM: Carol.

CAROL: Shut it!

SAM: Carol…I know…okay? I know what you are feeling right now cause I feel it too. I have never been so traumatized in all my life cause I was the one who saw Lucky’s face right before I landed on ’em –

CAROL: SHUT IT! Oh my God, you are so stupid – STOP putting images in my mind.

SAM: Right, okay, YES, you are right…I should have been gentle, not as graphic, right.

CAROL: Graphic! Your brain isn’t capable of being graphic. You are BASIC. You are BLUNT. You are whatever you are!

SAM: I just don’t want you to hate me over this… I had to tell you—I should have made things softer—but I had to tell you. And he did die honorably because the fellas wanted to toss him in the lake, and I said no. I stopped them from doing such a thing and made them, Carol, I f’cking made them put Lucky in a box for a proper burial.

CAROL: I’m gonna kill them all.

SAM: No! Carol, you can’t.

CAROL: I’m gonna end all their lives.

SAM: Carol, please, I can’t, I can’t…

Sam clutches his chest.

SAM (cont’d): I’m exhausted.

CAROL: First it will be Carl; he’s the loudest, most obnoxious slob of the bunch. I want his ass first.

SAM: I have no energy to stop you.

CAROL: Then it will be Ronaldo, ’cause he’s always been a sadistic pig.

SAM: Carol –

CAROL: Fergie will be next, and then Hooper I will save for last. That bonehead!

SAM: Carol?

CAROL: What?!

SAM: Carol, I think my leg is swelling up for real.

CAROL: Huh?

Sam rips open the leg of his pants. A swollen kneecap is revealed.

SAM: Damnit. You have ice?

Carol runs into her house.

Sam rips his other pant leg open, and his shin is swollen.

(to himself) I knew it.

Carol runs out of her house with a large bag of ice.

Carol applies the ice to his kneecap and notices the other leg.

CAROL: They are both swollen?

SAM: Yeah.

CAROL: We gotta get you to the hospital.

SAM: No, no, this has happened before. It’s fine. The ice will bring things down.

Sam alternates the ice to the opposite leg. Carol runs back into the house.

(to himself) I knew this was gonna happen. Why am I so stupid all of the time? Keep quiet, Sam! Always too honest. You just need to KEEP QUIET.
